My name is Denise Pennington and Art has been a lifelong journey of rediscovery.

I left school at 15 much to my parents horror and despite my art teacher's advice, to start work and earn some money.

Looking back I do regret that decision. In my early 30s I enrolled in a private art tuition class, that’s when I caught the art bug all over again.

I began painting in oils, which was the only medium I really understood at the time.  

I liked the fact that if you made a mistake, you could simply paint over it and keep going.

Over the years I continued painting, and in my late 50’s I became more involved than ever.  

I joined local art groups, started exhibiting my work, was delighted to be selling my paintings.

I have experimented with many medium’s over the years, but I always find myself returning to acrylics.

I love the vibrant colours and the energy they bring to my paintings, and they have become my preferred medium.

Earlier this year, I volunteered to help establish a new art group at the Rainbow Centre in Morecambe.

What began as helping to get the group started has evolved into me teaching the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years to students who are eager to learn.  

Seeing others discover the joy of painting is incredibly rewarding.

My name is Linda Hall, and art has always been my greatest passion.

It was my favourite subject at school, and on leaving I went straight into window display, training at a store in London.

It was a wonderful opportunity to be creative everyday.

After getting married and raising my family, my love of art never disappeared.  

I enjoyed painting murals in my children’s bedroom’s bringing a little colour and imagination into their lives.

Once my children had flown the nest, I returned to painting with the encouragement of an amazing teacher called Doreen, who rekindled my passion for creating. Since then, I have continued to develop my skills and a variety of artistic styles and techniques.

Although I enjoy working in all mediums water colour has a special place in my heart.

I find endless inspiration in nature, and more recently I have been exploring the beautiful chinoiserie style, which has influenced my work.

Today, I belong to a couple of local art societies and regularly exhibit my paintings through them.

Painting continues to bring me great pleasure, and I love having the opportunity to share my work with others.
