Seasonal Flow Yoga with Sue Denerley

I am Sue and I have been teaching yoga for almost 20 years.

I specialise in Seasonal Yoga Flow.

The practice is based on 5 seasons in the year -

Spring (March, April and May)

This is a time for getting the body gently moving.  This is a time for making affirmations and detoxing the body and the breath

Summer (June, July and August)

Summer is a time when the weather is warmer and the body more receptive to stretching.  On warmer days the practice is slower.  Movement generates heat and when the temperature outside is already hot,  it is better for the body to slow down and take time to sink into stretches.

Late Summer (September and October)

Harvest time, when we reflect on our achievements throughout the year.  The weather can be very unsettled and we can feel a bit restless.  This is the time for simple physical balances that bring us back to mental and emotional balance

Autumn (November and December )

In Autumn we bring focus to the breath.  The practice aims to strengthen the lungs, the muscles that support the lungs and to increase lung capacity in order to prepare us for the winter ailments that are prevalent at this time of year

Winter (January and February)

In winter the weather is often cold and damp,  muscles can be tight and joints a bit stiff.  This is the time of year for the gentle practice of Pawanmuktasana to maintain mobility in the joints and strength and flexibility in the muscles

The class is suitable for all.  I start with gentle options and offer more advanced options  for those who wish to take  their practice a bit deeper.  I can offer adjustments and modifications to suit individual needs
